The Guelph Jr. B Regals are accepting applications for the Head Coach position with our team.
The position of Head Coach will perform all duties associated with the title for a Jr. B Lacrosse Club, including but not limited to working in conjunction with the Board to prepare a season plan, scheduling, practices, off-floor activities, maintaining team and individual discipline, recruiting players and promoting the team in the community.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain an atmosphere that promotes individual and team success
- Prepare, plan, and lead team practices to develop individual and team skills
- Prepare and plan off-floor activities to promote team-building
- Display team progression throughout the lacrosse season
- Represent the Guelph Jr. B Regals throughout the community
- Manage and recruit Assistant Coaches and additional club staff (as needed)
- Work closely with the General Manager in all lacrosse-related activities
- Perform additional duties as directed by the Board of Directors
Qualifications:
- A minimum of two (2) years’ recent experience coaching at the junior level with knowledge of game management required at this level
- Excellent communication skills
- Willing to work with Assistant Coaches, accept and respect their opinions and feedback
- Junior and/or Professional playing experience preferred
- Strong mentorship, leadership, disciplinary skills and conflict management
- Historical success as coach/assistant coach (preferred)
