The Guelph Jr. B Regals announced their 2022 schedule recently.
The Regals, who are entering their 29th season of regular season play in the Ontario Junior “B” Lacrosse League (no seasons in 2020 and 2021), kick off their campaign Thursday, April 21 with a road trip to St. Catharines for a meeting with the Athletics. Guelph will then host the Wallaceburg Red Devils two days later on Saturday, April 23 for their home opener, which begins at 3:00 PM. The team will be recognizing six players who graduated from Junior after 2020 and 2021 prior to ball drop.
Some other notable games on the schedule include May 11 when the Regals welcome longtime rival Elora to the Victoria Road Recreation Centre for the first meeting of the season. Guelph will head to Six Nations on May 20 for a meeting with the Rebels, who were Founders Cup Finalists in the last full-season of lacrosse in 2019. It will be the first time the two teams meet since Six Nations eliminated the Regals from the playoffs in 2019 after taking the series, 3-1.
All home games will be played at Victoria Road Recreation Centre. Admission to home games is $8 for Adults and $5 for Seniors and Students. Tickets can be purchased at the gate on game day.
